What are the end-grain woods?

This is where the grains of the wood are perpendicular to the cutting surface. In standard boards the grains are parallel.

The extensive daily use of the cutting surface causes a number of tiny cuts to the grains. When the face isn't durable enough small pieces of wood can get into your food.

Ordinary boards appear "cut through" in the center as a result of the intensive use and their softer face.

The durability and beautiful appearance of the end-grain cutting boards will give you many many years of use.
